The Mozambican Stock Exchange (BVM), and the National Education Development Institute (INDE) initialed, on 12 March 2020.
A Memorandum of Understanding whose purpose is the promotion and development of financial education, on the capital market and the stock exchange, with the aim of enhancing education, training and research in the fields of Education, Art, Culture, Technology and the Financial System.

The cooperation protocol will allow the integration of material on the capital market and the stock exchange in the school curricula of primary and secondary education, and the production of teaching material from the Financial Education Program of the BVM.

On the occasion, BVM's PCA, Salim Valá, said that this protocol will reinforce the work that BVM has been carrying out at the national level, raising awareness among the priority target audiences about the financing and investment alternatives that the stock market offers to the market. . He emphasized that with this protocol, the teacher and the student will have a privileged space in the action of the BVM.

For his part, the Director General of INDE, Ismael Nhêze, said that the signing of the memorandum constitutes a vital platform as, for the first time, stock exchange content will be introduced in school curricula with a generalized approach at the level of primary education. and secondary, so that students have basic notions about, savings, financing and investment via stock exchange.

It is important to mention that the BVM has already been developing joint activities with the INDE with regard to the training of education staff on matters of the scholarship, including the exchange of experiences with countries with a high degree of financial education in their teaching plans for all countries. levels.

The memorandum signed by the two Institutions is in line with that set out in two Government instruments, namely the Strategy for the Development of the Financial Sector in Mozambique (2013-2022) and the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion (2016-2022), whose fundamental objective , is the improvement of the levels of Financial Inclusion and the stability and sustainability of the financial system of the country.
