The training session follows the visit to Mozambique by the honorable Lord Mayor of the City of London in September of this year to strengthen relations between Mozambique and the United Kingdom in several sectors, particularly the financial sector. At that time, Dr. Parmley announced the funding of training for the Mozambique Stock Exchange (BVM) and other financial institutions.
The training was given by Martin Russel, an expert on financial systems from London sent by the Mansion House, Office of the Lord Mayor of London.
It should be noted that the training, co-financed by Mansion House, Barclays Bank Mozambique, Standard Bank, BancABC and British High Commission in Maputo, covered topics such as the financial market and services, the money and debt market, as well as the market shareholder.
During the closing ceremony, British High Commissioner in Mozambique Joanna Kuenssberg said that the partnership between the two institutions will continue due to the interest of her country in continuing to support the strengthening of the Mozambican financial system.
Salim Valá, BVM's PCA, emphasized the vital role that the British Government has been playing in the country's development, and in particular in the economic sector, emphasizing the contribution of training in strengthening the human and institutional capital of the institutions involved in the Capital Markets in Mozambique.
