On August 18, 2017, Mozambique Stock Exchange publicly announced the listing of Zero Investimentos SA.

This is the first SME listed on the Second Market of the Stock Exchange. The listing  of the first SME on the Stock Exchange is the result of the strategic vision of the Government to attract to the Stock Exchange this national business  segment which represents the majority.

Zero Investimentos SA is a commercial company incorporated on May 04, 2012, with its headquarters in the District of Marracuene, and its main purpose is to establish and provide investment, fund and capital management services, as well as to select, manage and apply any venture capital fund, and to conclude agreements for the provision of investment management services.

Zero Investimentos CEO, João das Neves, in his speech during the ceremony, said that he believes that the listing on BVM will add value to his company in the market, and also said that, in addition to the financing that the company can obtain through the Stock Exchange, listing provides other opportunities such as conveying to investors a message of discipline and rigor in management, transparency and good governance, which are values required for a company to be admitted to listing on BVM.

Moreover, the CEO also pointed out that during  listing process, the company experienced several difficulties, but due to persistence, selfless work and collaboration with some institutions such as BVM and BNI, Zero Investimentos SA made history by becoming the first SME to be listed on the Mozambique Stock Exchange.

According to Salim Valá, BVM´s CEO, the listing of Zero Investimentos SA on the stock market showed the companies operating in Mozambique that the capital market is open to all types of companies, thus breaking the prevailing paradigm that Stock Exchange is only for large companies.

Valá also stressed that the listing of Zero Investimentos SA on BVM conveys the signal to the national business community that the capital market and the Stock Exchange are prepared to welcome companies of different dimensions and areas of activity. He also mentioned that the number of companies listed on BVM (after CDM, CMH, CETA, EMOSE and MATAMA) has gone up to six (6), which will help widen the range of alternatives for investors to apply their savings. In addition to that, he also challenged companies located in different parts of the country to be listed on the Stock Exchange as a means of capitalization and economic empowerment.

Furthermore, it should be noted that with the listing of Zero Investimentos SA, it gains greater visibility in the domestic market, and positions itself on the radar of domestic and foreign investors and also has a greater potential for it to be valued. The public also has an additional alternative for applying their savings and the company has access to more financing alternatives at a relatively low cost.
